In an ideal world this resume would always be up-to-date. In the real world we inhabit, updating the web site is low priority when compared with helping customers get more out of their computer systems or working on an article/book.
This document is current as of Septembre 28, 2006. If this seems like a long time ago and you need the information, please contact Benoît, describe your needs and he'll send you a more recent version (he might even update the site).
Benoît Marchal is a writer and consultant based in Namur, Belgium. He has 12 years of experience on web services and other integration technologies: EDI, XML and web services. He is the author of 3 books on XML and more than 200 articles. He is also the editor of Déclencheur, a popular podcast on photography in French.
Benoît is an architect who designs and develops web services. Benoît demonstrates strong technical leadership, and has excellent oral and written communications skills.
Benoît knows that successful projects don't start with a blank sheet of paper and that they
never lose focus of the user's needs. He likes the challenges in blending old and new applications to deliver
practical, cost-effective benefits.
Benoît is always looking for new and challenging projects.
In addition to books and magazine articles, he likes to work on corporate communication including white papers, newsletters and more.
Although Benoît is best known for his work on XML and Java, he also likes to work on other subjects.
For example, he recently did a short series on Macintosh programming and launched a podcast on photography.
